On Thursday, Oct. 27, D.R. Johnson Wood Innovations was awarded the 2016 Oregon Manufacturing Award in the Family-Owned Business category by the Portland Business Journal.
D.R. Johnson Wood Innovations’ president Valerie Johnson accepted the award on behalf of her team. She spoke about the importance of being willing to take risk to succeed, specifically citing how her father expanded into the glulam business 50 years ago and how she led the company to be the first APA/ANSI certified manufacturer of cross-laminated timber (CLT) products in the nation.
D.R. Johnson Wood Innovations is a subsidiary of D.R. Johnson Lumber Co., a family-owned business that opened its doors in 1951. As a family owned and operated company, D.R. Johnson is honored to receive this award.
